Overview of the service
We supply a service whereby
we complete certain, key elements of the vehicle
registration process, and submit an application to the
DVLA as agent. In the unlikley event that the
application fails we will assist with further help in
liaising with the DVLA.
The price:
The price of the service is fixed, as
long as you agree to the terms and conditions and to the
'What you must provide' section, below.
Information and
items needed from you (the customer, or 'registrant')
What you must provide:
By buying our service and agreeing to
our terms and conditions, you agree to provide certain
things we must have, as follows.
Evidence of year. Unless your vehicle is an off-road vehicle (as its primary use or
designed use), or 'plant', or agricultural-use vehicle,
or low-powered electric vehicle, we will need YEAR OF
MANUFACTURE evidence. This can be an existing or old log
book or registration document, certificate of newness,
or a dating letter from the manufacturer or certain
vehicle owners clubs. We can advise you on this matter.
Vehicle information. We need to know the VIN (chassis number) and the vehicle year and
make and model. We cannot proceed until and unless you
give us this information. If it is not forthcoming we
will usually not be able to proceed.
Once you have purchased a
service and/or product and we begin work (ie. even
before you may have submitted essential information like
a VIN and vehicle colour) we will be unable to give a
refund in the event you cannot or will not supply us the
VIN or other crucial pieces of information.
We will normally send at least 5 written reminders before
concluding that we can go no further with an order.
In the case of NOVA applications
and NOVA Submission to HMRC we always need a few bits of information
like how much you paid for the vehicle, when and where you bought it and
its speedo reading (if applicable). We will assist you with the
questions and will be available to discuss your individual
circumstances. We will request
this information early on and it is vital you give it to us so
we can complete.
EC/UK test certificate or conformity. If your vehicle is less than ten years old and is not an
off-road vehicle (as its primary use or designed use),
or 'plant', or agricultural-use vehicle, or low-powered
electric vehicle, we will need an EC conformity
document, or CoC or an IVA test pass certificate. We may
be able to obtain this/these for you, if needed, but
there are extra costs involved (see Extra Charges
below).
MOT
test certificate. If your vehicle is
less than 40 years old and not 'plant', or
agricultural-use vehicle, or low-powered electric
vehicle, we will need an MOT test pass certificate. A
'daylight' MOT pass is sufficient.
Q Registration number: If your vehicle is
an off-road vehicle (as its primary use or designed
use), or 'plant', or agricultural-use vehicle, or
low-powered electric vehicle, and you cannot obtain YEAR
OF MANUFACTURE evidence, we will usually be able to
obtain a Q registration plate from the DVLA for your
vehicle. This is not guaranteed, but as part of the
fixed price we can make this representation to the DVLA,
and it is usually successful.
COSTS INVOLVED
The fixed price you pay for the
'Get Me A Log Book'
(GMALB) service includes our
forms, our role as agent
and submissions and
support service, and
also the DVLA £55
registration fee.
Road Tax may also be
applicable and this is
not included in the £175
GMALB fee. We can advise
you on tax, if it is
applicable, or you can
look at tax rate tables
here.
Extra charges:
If your vehicle is
less than ten years
old and is not an
off-road vehicle (as its
primary use or designed
use), or 'plant', or
agricultural-use
vehicle, or low-powered
electric vehicle, we
will usually need an EC
conformity document, or
CoC or an IVA/MSVA test
pass certificate, and
for LHD vehicles - a VCA
Certificate of Mutual
Recognition (VCA CMR).
If you have paid the
fixed price for
registration documents
assistance (our service)
and we ascertain that
you need a
manufacturer's CoC or an
IVA or MSVA test pass,
we will quote you the
extra charges to obtain
these items, as
necessary. This will
usually incur extra
charges of up to £200.
Or you may get the
IVA/MSVA test done or
obtain a CoC and or VCA
CMR yourself, enabling
us to continue the
registration process for
the fiuxed price. If you
decide to to neither
(not obtain this
documentation or
undertake the tests) we
will be unable to refund
the portion of the fixed
fee you paid for our
work, but we will be
able to refund the £55
for the DVLA.
Submissions to the DVLA and
HMRC:
Our services do not involve
'processing' applications and they do not lead directly
to vehicle registration. Our role is to help registrants
and prepare and present applications to the DVLA and/or
HMRC, as agent, as required. The DVLA and HMRC require
truthful declarations and information. We commit to
passing on your information to these agencies and assume
that you are presenting truthful declarations, to the
best of your knowledge and capability. The decisions of
the DVLA and HMRC are final and as agent, if we are
notified by them or you that an application has failed
due to circumstances beyond our control, resulting in no
UK registration number being granted, no refund will be
due from us to you, the customer, since our workload
will have been the same as if it had been registered.
The DVLA fee however, will be refunded.
